Travel day

I am finally getting around to blogging about our trip to California!
We went a Monday through Friday a couple of weeks ago
when the kids had mid-winter break. This worked out great because they didn't miss to
much school and it is an {off season} for Disneyland.
The weather was supposed to be amazing like 70's & 80's!

Since I took a lot of pictures {go figure}
I will be using a combination of both iphone
and camera pictures! It is a lot easier to use your iphone.
Plus Michelle also used my phone as her camera to take pictures.
I am going to break it up days and blog each one separately.

I will start with our travel day!
Our flight was at 10:10 leaving out of Seattle
so we woke up at 5:00 to get up and out the door!
As soon as the alarm went off Jordan was in our room ready to go!
I guess he had been laying in bed watching the clock.

We were out the door and on the road by 5:30am.
We hit up McDonald's for some fast breakfast.

We drove to Andy's house {in Seattle}
to pick him up so he could drive our car
back to his house after we got dropped off at airport.

{iphone}
He is also going to pick us up Friday night!
A huge thank you to Andy! You rock!

Once at the airport the kids were bouncing around with the excitement of the airport!
Asking a million questions, arguing over who got to pull the suitcase, ect.

We got ourselves checked in and made our way through security.
We found a spot to sit where Jordan could watch the planes land and take off.

Finally time to board and get settled in for our flight.
I sat with Michelle while Jordan and Josh sat together across from us.

We landed safely with no problems from the plane or kids.
We caught a shuttle to go pick up our rental car!
I am very glad we got one this trip.
Last time we went we were crammed into a shuttle full
of strangers stopping at various hotels.
Plus the kids got in a little power nap!

Once at the hotel we got our bags up to our room.
I had gotten a few things for the kids so I
sent Josh to check out the pool with them.
I am all about adding special touches to any
event/activity so of course I had to get a few things.
I tried not to go over board.
I had to really re frame from getting soap dishes, toothbrushes,
holders, towels, ect. I know it is nuts but it brings me such happiness.
I limited myself to a small basket of trinkets/snacks, pillow cases,
and a stuffed Mickey & Minnie mouse.

After some relaxation we headed to show the kids where the park was
and to walk around downtown Disney.  We were a 5 minute walk from the entrance.
We were literally right across the street from the park.
Downtown Disney has grown since we were there last.
A lot more stores but no more Anne Geddes store :(

The kids loved looking through the World of Disney store.
Michelle really wanted a Minnie Mouse.
We explained to her that we had several days to get one
and wanted to make sure she found the one she REALLY wanted.
Not just an impulse buy.
She did find a necklace with her name and
a colorful Micky mouse head bracelet.
Jordan tried on various hats until he found the one he wanted.
He did find the hat he wanted Mickey!
I was more then ok with that choice.
He also found a perry the platypus that was a whoopee cushion!
He already had plans for it and started whispering in
my ear how he was planning on putting in under daddy's pillow.
Then when he went to sleep it would make tooting noises.
He was laughing and so excited!

After a while we came across the lego store.
The had set up outside a place to build cars to race.
Jordan loved this.

While Jordan and daddy played Michelle walked around with my
phone and took pictures of the various displays made from legos.
She did let me take this one of her real quick before any saw her.

It started getting dark and cold.
We headed over to ESPN to play some games indoors.

After the points were used up we started to make our way back to the hotel.
We had stopped at Wal-mart on our way to the hotel and got some food.
Since we already ate out twice we decided to eat at the hotel for dinner.

The kids were out hard by 9 'o clock!
I am was so excited for the next day.
