getting fit! getting healthy!

As I have been saying I have been meaning to share my goals for the year.
Today was a long day so I am just going to share my first one.

Getting fit! Getting Healthy!

I have tried many a times to start this goal
and I usually do great for about two weeks.
I then don't results fast so I go back to my old ways.
I came across this getting healthy weight point challenge
and knew it was perfect to get me going.
It is an 8 week challenge so you may be reading about
my ups and downs for a while.

I love that it focuses on making healthy choices each day
and less on eat this and not that.
bonus I can do it with Josh and hopefully I win!
You know how guys are you mention lets lose weight
together and the next day they are down 5 pounds!
Not far!
So this makes it a litttle more even.
If I win Josh take the kids to the Glen for the weekend
and I will have the house to myself!!
Win win situation.
Kids get some one on one time with their dad
and I get a whole weekend to just chill in silence!
I REALLY want to win.

I copied and pasted the attachment into word
and fixed so each week was on its own page.
I also started it on Tuesday instead of Monday
since we started today!

I even got my mom on board to do it with her too.
We will have a different winner prize between the two of us.
I think loser treats the winner to lunch would be fun!

Here is a little how my day one went.
I took photos through on my iphone.

I started the day off with a cup of coffee.
I had already decided the night before that after
Jordan got on the bus I would jog up and down our
stairs for 30 minutes. It sounded easy enough. I do a light
sprint up them all day long how hard could 30 minutes.
Well after having a pep in my step for about 10 minutes
reality set in and i realized what a terrible idea this was.
Especially after not doing any kind of exercise for a few months.
Between 10 and 15 minutes I felt like I wanted to hurl.
So i added in a walking lap around the table when i came down the stairs.
The last 15 minutes was pure torture.
But I started and by golly I was going to finish.
I kept thinking about all the people on biggest loser.
If they can get through a Jillian workout then I can do these stairs.
They puke and get right back on the treadmill.
If I am not puking I can keep going.
Those are a few of the pep talks I gave myself.
Right when i started dry heaving going up the stairs
my timer on my phone went off. So i quick ran to the bathroom where
I throw up twice.
I declared it a successful work out and that
I was waiting a while before I did that again.

{top pictures are before I started}

{left is right when i was done & puked. Not my most attractive picture.
Right I have showered and happy I am done!}

I had to walk around for another 5 to 10 minutes before I finally stopped sweating.
I then made a yummy smoothie and got in my two servings of fruits!

The rest of the day I did great earning my points while logging
my calories on my fitness pal app on my phone.

I got to have a day date with Josh.
We got asian food with lots of veggies!
I tried to eat those first.

For dinner at bunco I snacked on only carrots and cucumbers.
No ranch even!

My tummy is a little hungry now but no eating after 9.
I am hoping a big glass of water will help!

I am off to help Josh figure out his fitness pal app!

  2. Not eating after 9 pm may be a good way to lose weight. But I have a better idea: always start your day with an exercise and a breakfast after. This will help increase your metabolism. Then, whatever you’re having for lunch should be palm-sized portion. Snacks should be light and ideally must include fruits. Skip dinner and go straight for an exercise. You’ll be so tired from exercising, you’d want to rest instead of eating. =)*Brandon Pepper*
