Spring break simple moments

Spring break has come to an end.
Tomorrow the kids go back to school.
I tried to make the most of everyday.
I planned activities we have never done or
I have been wanting to do for a while.
It was kind of like we had a little staycation.
Here are some of my favorite simple moments from the week.

Monday we went to a local field full of daffodils to pick some

Tuesday Jordan had baseball camp for the day and
I took Michelle and friends to divergent and menchies

Wednesday Jordan has his friend/class mate over for his first friend sleepover.
We went to a local bouncy house place where they bounced the day away.

Thursday we road our city bus to go get lunch and play around at the mall.

Friday we had younger nephews over and went for donuts

Saturday Michelle and I  returned to Bellingham again to go shopping at Costco
and Walmart. Jordan got to hang out at my parents house. Josh was down south for an
all day softball tournament. He left at five in the morning and didn't return until after midnight.
We decided not to go along because it was supposed to pour all day.
That evening we watched movies. Michelle and I had picked up birthday cake pops and
then we saw that DQ had birthday cake blizzards so got two mini blizzards too.

Today we slept in, had a big brunch, played outside, went to an one year old birthday party
and now everyone is vegging out. The kids are playing minecraft together {that is amazing},
Josh is taking a late cat nap and I am writing up this post. It was a super busy week but also a lot of fun.

Simple Snapshots

This Friday I got to have my little nephew over for a bit.
I just love this little guy to pieces.
He is just the happiest little guy.
The only time I see him get fussy is when it is time to eat or sleep.
He is a great snuggle buddy and is content hanging out on your lap
chewing on my sweat shirt strings. Usually he is tortured by kissing
on his adorable cheeks. He usually loves it and I can get some laughs
out of him.  He reminds me at times of Jordan as a baby. He "almost"
makes me want to have another baby. No ideas though that is not going to happen.
Just look at this sweet adorable face.
Sorry in advance for the cuteness overload but I couldn't narrow them down.

beautiful snow day

For several years now we have talked about taking the kids up to Mt. Baker
to go sledding. We haven't done in the past because we just never did and there is
always that thought in the back of your mind that you are going to get all the way there
just to turn around and go back because they hate it.
Our trip was just that.

Friday night we headed up to the Glen to spend the night.
It was cold out and they had snow on the ground.
We got there later then planned so we snuggled up
for a while before calling it a night for the kids.

We woke up to a beautiful sunny cold day!
Josh made us a yummy breakfast to fill up our tummies.

Then we got ourselves dressed for snow fun!

We drove up the mountain for about another hour
until we found the sledding area.

It is actually a frozen lake covered in snow.
We made our way across in knee deep snow.

Josh being the adventurous thrill seeking man he
is picked out a location for us to start. It was not the ideal
spot for the kids we learned quickly. It was steap.
Josh went down and loved it.

Michelle went down halfway and then rolled the rest.
She was crying.

Jordan at this point had made it half way up for his turn.
I followed behind him encouraging him up.
We got to the top and I told Josh he better go with him.

They go down and head straight for the tree.
Josh trying to avoid the tree dumps them over in the snow.
Jordan is crying.
Not a good start.
I left Josh down at the bottom with the crying children
and headed over to a more popular safer looking run.
Shortly after Josh with the kids headed over.

I finally convinced Jordan to try out a little hill.
He loved it!

After that is was great!
We ended up staying for two hours until everyone
was hungry and tired. You use a lot of energy climbing up
a steep hill in the snow.

The only issue we had over and
over was gloves with Jordan. His gloves weren't cut out
for snow so I gave him mine. Getting them on him takes
at least 10 minutes. Trying to get him to spread his fingers
and fit them. He kept taking them off and using his bare hands
in the snow. Then would be crying because his hands hurt so
we had to struggle again to get them back on.

All in all it was a great family day!
I am really hoping to fit in another trip before winter is over!
