getting fit! getting healthy! {week 1 & 2}

I know I said I would post about my first week a while ago
but I was grumpy after the weigh in.  After that I just never felt like
writing about it.  Now you get week 1 & 2 all in one fun post!

Week 1
{january 8th - 14th}
I went into Week 1 with a bang and nearly killed myself on the stairs.
I was so excited to get going I thought it would be a great idea to run 
the stairs for 30 minutes. After about 10 I was struggling. By 30 I was puking.
The main thing is I started and finished it!

Tuesday marked the first day of week 1 of my eight week challenge I am doing
with Josh.  If I win I get a weekend to the house to myself! 
Oh the things I can do or not do with a quiet weekend!

Anyways back on track.
With the challenge it encourages you to eat fruit and 
veggies each day which I am BAD at.
I definitely struggled to get those in daily.
Exercise!
Another huge one I need to get back into doing.
Wanting to get all my points helped me get to the gym.
The thought of Josh going and getting the points 
and me sitting on my butt and getting nothing got me to the gym.

after the weigh in Monday night I was only down .8 pounds :(
Josh of course lost 8 pounds!!!
What!!!!
I wish I could do that.
I was pretty grumpy after that.
This the point where I am like what is the point of the eating healthy,
calorie counting, and working out if I don't lose weight.
I had to remind myself that it is a slow process and I 
am not on the biggest loser where they drop 8 pounds a week.
I am a see results now kind of person.
That is why I can never stick with it long enough to reach my goal.
I am hoping this time will be different and I will stick with until my goal
is reached.  I just need to get reminding myself it is worth it.
Even if I am not seeing huge results on the scale I am making healthy
choices for the long run in life. I want to live as long as I can and be active.
I don't want to spend my last 10, 20, or 30 years here on earth
sick, always hurt, fat, lazy, ect. So I am not only doing this for weight loss
but overall health and long healthy, happy life!

Week 2
I went into week 2 with an ok attitude and I can do this thoughts!
This week we got double points for working out!
I wanted all the double points I could get because of course Josh 
crushed me point wise week 1. 
Juicing helped a lot with getting more fruits and veggies.
I have been doing AWESOME with not eating any sweets or sugary treats!
It is not worth it to me to lose 5 points over it.
I started doing from couch to 5k this week also.
I have an app on my phone that tells me when to walk and run 
so that is super nice so I don't have to be checking the time.
I went out Saturday morning because didn't feel like going to the gym.
The sidewalks were a sheet of ice.
I did more iceskating then walking and landed hard on my butt once.
This first week wasn't hard I can easily do the walk 1 1/2 minutes
jog 1 minute. I know it will get harder because I know I won't be able to
jogging over a minute very well.  

I am still struggling with weekends.
The weeks are easy to stay on track
but weekends I want to get lazy and eat like a lazy person.
Friday was my worse day.
But not as bad as a before weekend day though.

Did a lot more juicing this week even though it can be a lot of work.

Most of your plate/meal should be made of them!


I did eat out one day this week with Jordan.
As much as I wanted to order my normal meal at Taco
Bell I knew calorie wise was not worth it.
So I ordered fresco style!
no good stuff like cheese or sour cream.
I do love the cilantro on these though!

Saturday morning walk/jog
It was foggy and slippery out.


I actually beat josh this week!!!!
He maintained his weight loss.
I lost 3 pounds!
We are overall about tied point wise now.
I need to keep up with him now so I can WIN!
I like to win.
It is in my blood.
Ask Josh or anyone in my family.
Better not get into that.
That is a WHOLE post on its own.


Today starts the first day of Week 3 of the eight week challenge I am doing.
We get double points for drinking 64 oz of water!
That is super easy!

I need all the encouragement I can get!
