Monday we spent pretty much the entire day outside in the yard!
I went out around eight to fill up our little two ring pool.
The kids were ready to play in it so I let them go get their suits on.
They spent the morning splashing, spraying, jumping and sliding into this little pool.
At one point I set up the slip n slide but the pool still won their vote.
Took a little lunch break and then they were right back to playing.
After a bit we went in for a little down time and break from the sun.
For our fun in the sun activity I blended up some
slurpees for an afternoon refreshment.
It is pretty simple recipe.
I didn't have club soda though so used Sierra Mist.
Ty and Mia loved it Jordan was not a fan.
We will try another flavor soon with club soda.
All you need is:
1 packet of Kool-Aid
2 cups of club soda
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups crushed ice
and, of course, a blender
Step 1 ~ Blend Kool-Aid, sugar, and 1 cup of the club soda on high until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 2 ~ Add the ice and blend until the mixture is smooth.
Step 3 ~ Add remaining cup of club soda and blend away.
Step 4 ~ Pour mixture into glasses and put in freezer for 30 minutes. Wait and relax!
Enjoy outside in the sun!
Later that night Jordan had a baseball game at bender.
We were able to sit in the shade which felt nice!
