spring day walk

I had other plans for this afternoon but since it was nice out
I decided to save those for another day and take the boys for a walk.
We headed to Edaleen for ice cream, then the boys love to walk the
railroad tracks, we make our way to bender to play and home again.
We left as soon as my nephews got off the bus and didn't get back home
again until 5:30.  That left us with enough time for homework, dinner and
a quick game in Michelle's room before they headed off to Awana.

Spring is here

We had the first official day of Spring a few days ago
but we actually had one our first real spring sunshine day!
The awesome news is it is supposed to stick around for the week!

Jordan and I ran errands this morning and grabbed some lunch.

When we got home he really wanted to wait outside for the yard waste truck.
He rode his bike around until it came.
Then our neighbor friend was going to mow his lawn
and Jordan was going to "help" him.
When they were done he got treated to ice cream.
We spent the rest of the afternoon outside.
I sat in my chair reading and actually got hot.
The sun felt wonderful.
While I was cooking dinner Jordan came in,
cuddled up with blankie and fell asleep.
We tried waking him up a few times for dinner but he was out.
I finally got him awake enough to eat dinner.
Then he wanted to ride bike to bender where Josh was
having batting practice and some of the neighbor kids were playing.
His cousins ended up coming too so they had a blast
being boys and chasing each other around. They even got
to get some hits in when the big boys were done.
I even got encouraged to take a swing at a few.
I haven't picked up a bat since high school a
and that was many years ago.
I missed a bunch but finally was able to connect with a few.

Today makes me excited for more sunny days to come and summer soon!

simple snapshots

For this week's simple snapshot Sunday
I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from this weekend.
I have been trying to pick and use my new camera everyday.
I need lots of practice to become familiar with it.
We had a pretty low key weekend around here which is nice.
Friday night we had a family movie night at home.
We watched Brave because none of us had watched it yet.
I actually really enjoyed it and found it quite funny.

Jordan wanted to hang on to it until its due date he said because
"daddy loved it and laughed a lot during it."
He is such a sweet man.  He has been all about the I love you's
and cuddles this weekend.  He loves to go back and forth with me
saying I love you...no I love you more...
I love you all morning...I love you all night....ect.

Saturday was supposed to be a softball day but canceled due to snow down south.
We had sun here so Josh and Jordan mowed the lawn for the first this year.
Jordan was so excited he was bouncing all over.

Afterwards Josh went to play golf.
We played outside, had "quiet time", went to Edaleen for icecream
and took Grampa a milkshake, and then came home and played outside some more!

We ended the night with some basketball.
Gonzaga lost so Jordan' bracket is done.
He had Gonzaga winning it all.
Now he has to buy daddy ice cream.

Today we had our big breakfast as a family before church.
I started this new tradition for us after football was officially over.
It is a lot more work for me but I can tell the kids love and appreciate it.
Right now we are all having some down time doing various things.

Flashback Friday

Flashback Friday
{Disneyland}

In keeping with the fun of our recent trip to Disneyland
I wanted to flashback to the other two times I went to Disneyland!
Both times were in March.

The very first time I went I was a junior in high school in March 2000.
Jana had just broken her arm from a snowboarding trip we took on
President's weekend. Josh and I had just started dating. I remember
writing him letters everyday and I also had a calling card to call him.
Oh young love.

I have a lot more pictures in my scrapbook but I don't feel like scanning them
so this is what I have on my external hard drive.  Gives you an idea :)
I don't really remember to much from our trip.  I honestly have the worse memory ever.
That is another reason why blogging and a ton of picture taking our so important to me.

I went for a second time in March 2007.
Michelle was five years old.
Jordan was just a baby about 7 months old.
How could I not post an adorable picture of him.
Look how cute he is.
I just welled up a bit.
Miss his little baby face.

We left him home with Gramma and Grampa and got some
one on one time with Michelle.
We did not tell her in advance.
We got her all packed up, drove over to my parents house and
asked her if she would like to go to Disneyland instead of school!
She was HUGE into princess so it was a great age/stage to take her.
I remember that we went two days to the parks.
We spent most of our time walking around,
waiting in line for the princesses {like 2-3 hours} and watching parades.
We didn't go on that many rides at all. There were way more characters
out and about during this visit then when we just went.
We met up with Josh's Uncle Bob and Aunt Caroline and they hung out
with us part of each day. That was a lot of fun.
We started off with the snow white ride which scared Michelle so bad she
didn't want to go on any ride that was inside.
I remember doing Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean,
and we did make her do Space Mountain!
We had two extra days were we did exploring, shopping, beach, and bowling.

I am going to try and keep up with Flashback Fridays.
I love looking through old pictures!
