Weekend Update

This weekend was busy but in a good way!
Josh and I attended The Art of Marriage conference put on by our church.
I am so glad we did.
We both got so much out of it.

Friday was for a couple of hours.
When we got home and put the kiddos to bed we sat together and talked about it.
Even though we have been married 5 years
surprisingly there are still some things we have never really talked about.
Not huge things but just little things we realized we don't talk about much.
It was nice to sit, listen, and talk with each other and to share things on our minds.
Where we are at spiritually, things that we like about each other,
what we need from each other, and so on.

Saturday we were at church most the of the day.
The kids decided to sleep in this morning so I actually had to wake them up
and have them quickly get ready to go.
Both kids went for the first half.
After a break for lunch we let Michelle stay home since she was the only older child there.
It was another great session and we again learned so much valuable information.

Saturday evening was spent relaxing.
I had a clean house and no dishes to do thanks to Michelle spending the afternoon
cleaning while we were gone.

Sunday Jordan was coughing and snotty so we decided to stay home from church.
We watched it live on the computer while Michelle worked on devotions and Jordan played quietly.
Had lunch
Quiet time for Jordan
Michelle played outside with a friend
After that Jordan wanted to play basketball outside with Josh.

Then we walked to Bender as a family which was actually freezing
even though it looked nice out.

{only picture I could get of her...she was my assistant in picture taking!}

Then we wasted an hour trying to figure out what to do with dinner.
I hadn't gone to the store like I planned because I was having a very weird day.
My stomach and head hurt most of the day and just very anxious.
So I tried to menu plan but just couldn't focus on it.

Anyhoo....never made it to the store.
So we didn't have much in the fridge.
Of course nothing sounded good.
What did sound good we would either need to go to store or eat out.
Back and forth finally Josh decided on going to the store with Michelle to see what jumped out at them.
They came home with potatoes in a box, a ham, bread sticks, baked potato soup, chips, and dip.
And got right in to making it!
I watched while laying on the couch feeling like poo.

We ate the huge feast, relaxed, and went to bed.

fun names

Jordan has quite the growing collection of angry birds.
He got 3 new bean bag ones on Valentines Day that he become quite attached too.
He gave them names that I think are quite cute.

The red bird (below far right) name is August.

The black bird is bomb and the blue bird is tweet tweet.
Tweet Tweet is by far his favorite though he is always napping.
He goes to preschool, sits at the table, always comes and gives me kisses, and talks to me while I do dishes.

{Egg}

He gave names to all the pigs but I can't remember now.
Except the one with the mustache is always the grampa pig.
Both of Jordan's grampas have a mustache.

Jordan asked me to take a group picture of them
and then I was able to get him in there too!

Kid's Date Night

As you know I have been wanting to spend more quality one on one time with the kids.
I think it is very important for us to make that time.
So we decided to put the dates on the calendar!
Each month we have a date with each of the kids.
We can either stay at home or go somewhere.
We will have a lot more options of activities to do once the
weather is nicer and the it is light a little longer.
I have been putting together a list of activities to do with each child
and also a list of stuff to do for a family date night once a month.
So last night Josh took Michelle out for hot chocolate at Woods.
Unfortunately I have no pictures.
But they both had a great time and got to have some special one on one time to talk.

Jordan and I stayed home.
I asked him in advance what he wanted to do
and he wanted to do circle time and school.
So he set to work setting that up for us.
He set a post for each of us at the table.

To begin our circle time we sang the hello song and then he started up with open, shut them so we sang that.
Then he told me it was time to pray.
So we prayed for our time together.
Then it time for calendar and we had to have a Popsicle stick with his name on it
so he could be the special helper.

{story time book and show & tell bucket for circle time}
Then we read book about tractors which turned into 3 because he really wanted to see a corn chopper.
After story time he said that is what time to play on the play structure (like his preschool).
But we don't have one so he he wanted to play sorry.
I was down.

{Very close game!}

{Guess who won?!}
Then it was time to do art at the table.
We each had an angry bird color page.
When he was done he flipped it over to write his name.
He told that you can either write it in rainbow or just one color.
That is what his teacher says.
Jordan also in the last week has been big on writing out the day and date.
He decided to do that again tonight since I was still coloring and he was done.

Earlier he had picked out a snack for us.
He then passed it out to us.
He chose mint oreos and marshmallows

When we were finishing up Josh and Michelle came home.
He wanted to keep going so we then moved on to show & tell.
Followed by a bible story.

Then it was free play time so we played trucks.

I had a blast with my little man!
It was an added bonus that I finally got a glimpse into what his preschool morning is like.
Whenever I ask I get no details.
But tonight he walked me through it step by step.

I hope to get all my ideas a little more organized so we also have new and fresh ideas.
I will share a list when that happens (organization).

If you have any ideas for me to add I would love to hear them!
