to the mountain

Winter is a hard season for me to find lots of joyous activities to do with the family.
Last year we took the kids sledding for the first time and it was a lot of fun.
It has become a new tradition for us to do or I would like it to be.
This past Saturday we finally made up to the mountain for an afternoon of sledding!
This year my brother and his family came along too.
We also brought up chili to eat afterwards.
There wasn't nearly as much snow as last year so there were a few sore bums
but other then that lots of fun!

the things I have done

I love the idea of a reverse bucket list.
I always think about all the the things I want to do
but I have actually done quite a bit in my life

The reverse bucket list works like this:
you basically list all of the remarkable things you have done,
already conquered, already crossed off.

mission trip to haiti
graduated from college with a degree
married my high school sweet heart
bought a house
have two amazing kids
get to be an Auntie
went zip lining
went on a roller coaster
working on overcoming my fear of heights
went to Disneyland as a family
finished my couch to 5k app

*I’m participating in Blogember with A Happy Girl this month.
Today’s prompt? reverse bucket list.

Day at the Fair

I have been attending the Northwest Washington Fair
for as long as I can remember.
My sister and I did 4-H growing up so we
spent the entire week there doing judging, style shows {wearing something we made},
we had to cook a meal while judges watched us, and
would do a presentation of how to make something crafty.
I loved it all except the style shows.

We usually pick one day of the week
where do the fair from open to close.
We arrive bright and early to check out
the animals and booths.
By 11 o clock when the rides open Michelle is ready to go!

This is the first year that Jordan
LOVED the rides and the fair.
Last year he was ready to go home by noon
after he ate this corn on a stick.

We were joined this year by Michelle's best friend Sydney,
Jana & Cohen, and my mom for the morning walk around.

After a little break the kids were ready for rides!
We met up with a few of my neighbor friends and there kids!
Jordan took right off with his little buddy Danny.
Huge difference from last year.
His favorite ride by far was the Ferris Wheel.
Michelle headed off to the big kid side with here friends.

Around 12:30 we met up with the older kids
and they were getting ice cream so we had a mini break.

Then it was off for more rides for a few more hours.
We met up with my nephews and sister in law.
We then headed out for pizza
and a break at the house until Josh came home.

After our break we spent the evening going on more rides
and walking around with Josh.
We also brought back two of Michelle's neighborhood friends.

It was a great day at the fair!
The kids were tuckered out by the
time we got home.
