End of year {preschool} picnic

Jordan had his last official day of preschool last Thursday.
This Tuesday they had an end of the year picnic.
They planned for the picnic to be indoors this year
since you never know about the weather here until the minute of.
Even then it can change in a matter of minutes.

They had  carnival games set up, bouncy house,
and they have a very fun play structure inside also.
Jordan's favorite things were the bouncy balls and the bouncy house.
They got to play for the first portion, then paused for lunch, played some,
paused for ice cream with cookies, sprinkles, sauces, & cake, and then played some more!

They also got to bring home there ABC books they made through out the year.
Jordan was super excited to show as soon as we got in the car!

That evening he called me over to show me his
angry bird set up and this is what he made.
He is such a sweetheart!

What {a field trip} looks like

Last Tuesday Jordan's preschool class went on a field trip to the local fire station!
Jordan was pretty excited!

The fire station is right across the street from the library.
Usually Jordan just gets to watch out the window at the library
as they work on the trucks, wash the trucks, go out on calls, come back on calls, or training outside.

Today he got to be hands on!
I picked him up at preschool to drive him over and meet the rest of his class.
(The 3 year old class was there too)
I was a total mamarazzi!
I am not nearly as shy or worried about what others are thinking when I whip out my camera.
I just click, click, click away!
I may have even pushed to the front line a few times to get a better picture.
Anyways.....
They started off by talking with the kids about fire, what to do in case of one, and asked them questions.
Then one of the guys got dressed up in all his gear
and the kids got to go high five  him to show he was not scary.

After that they divided up the two classes to check.
Jordan's group went first to check out the ambulance.
The guy was a little graphic with his stories but the kids didn't seem to terrified.

Afterwards they all hopped out and had a few minutes before we went inside to check out the fire truck.

I just love watching him interact with his friends.
The little games they play.
The silly names they have for each other.
How they act very similar.
like boys!!

Back in line to head inside!

The firefighter talked about the truck and what different things did.
Then we walked around to the other side and the kids got to climb up inside to sit!

At the end the kids got to check out the ladder truck.
Two kids got to turn on the lights and honk the horn.
Then they walked around the truck to count all the lights.

We attempted a class picture but it was pretty bright from the sun so lots of squinting.

Then they handed out color books and hats!

half birthday Celebration

On Tuesday Jordan got to celebrate his half birthday at preschool.
Since he has a summer birthday he won't be at school to celebrate.
I started out simple with buying Mario fruit snacks for his birthday treat.
Then i saw this on pinterest and wanted to do that.
I was going to use regular m & m's then add the fruit snacks to the cup also.
I was also going to add a fruit snack on top of cupcake.

{Valentine Cone Cupcakes}
Chocolate cupcakes, baked in cones, iced in buttercream with fondant hearts.

Monday night Jordan and headed to the store to buy cupcakes and frosting.
After dinner we made the batter.
Jordan was a great help and very hands on.

When it was well mixed I poured them into the cones.
When I went to peek at them this is what I saw

Well.....that doesn't look right.
Pulled them out and threw them away.
Now what???
Luckily I had a box of brownies up in the cupboard.
The next morning I made the brownies and this is what he took.

The brownies didn't come out very well but I figured 4 & 5 years wouldn't be looking to closely.
On the way out the door I dropped one splat all over the deck.
Then half way to school I realized I forgot the juice and cups.
boo....so we turned around.
One of those mornings I guess.

But look at this cute man with his all about me poster ready for his special day!

He came home with some of his cup of goodies left plus some Valentine hearts.
