Last Tuesday Jordan's preschool class went on a field trip to the local fire station!
Jordan was pretty excited!
The fire station is right across the street from the library.
Usually Jordan just gets to watch out the window at the library
as they work on the trucks, wash the trucks, go out on calls, come back on calls, or training outside.
Today he got to be hands on!
I picked him up at preschool to drive him over and meet the rest of his class.
(The 3 year old class was there too)
I was a total mamarazzi!
I am not nearly as shy or worried about what others are thinking when I whip out my camera.
I just click, click, click away!
I may have even pushed to the front line a few times to get a better picture.
Anyways.....
They started off by talking with the kids about fire, what to do in case of one, and asked them questions.
Then one of the guys got dressed up in all his gear
and the kids got to go high five him to show he was not scary.
After that they divided up the two classes to check.
Jordan's group went first to check out the ambulance.
The guy was a little graphic with his stories but the kids didn't seem to terrified.
Afterwards they all hopped out and had a few minutes before we went inside to check out the fire truck.
I just love watching him interact with his friends.
The little games they play.
The silly names they have for each other.
How they act very similar.
like boys!!
Back in line to head inside!
The firefighter talked about the truck and what different things did.
Then we walked around to the other side and the kids got to climb up inside to sit!
At the end the kids got to check out the ladder truck.
Two kids got to turn on the lights and honk the horn.
Then they walked around the truck to count all the lights.
We attempted a class picture but it was pretty bright from the sun so lots of squinting.
Then they handed out color books and hats!
