last day of school

Thursday marked the last day of school!
I now have a 7th grader and a 1st grader.
Unbelievable!
Here are their first and last day of school pictures.

It was a busy day today.
I got up early before Michelle headed out to the bus.
We got to chat for a while and I got to sneak in a few pictures.
I was so embarrassing because I had a towel on my head.
When anyone would go by she would dart back in the house.
All the Lynden schools had early release today.
Michelle's grade walked to the skating rink for a good time of skating.

In Jordan's class they were going to celebrate  summer birthdays so
I drove him to drop off goodies.

The school was also having a talent show that morning.
I had to stay and watch that.
My nephew Josiah sang a song at the talent show.
He sang Do You Realize by the Flaming Lips.
He dedicated it to their family friend Jason who passed away this last April.
My sister in law told me that it was all his idea.
He picked the song knowing Jason would love it.
I have to share the video.

Following the talent show it was an early lunch for Jordan.
Followed by recess!
He loves to play wall ball with a group of boys.

Then it was back home again to hang out with Brianna and Nolan!
Later that afternoon Christine, my nephews, mom and us walked
down to Edaleen Dairy for ice cream cones!
Even Michelle and two of her friends joined us!

I had told Michelle after school she could die the tips of her hair with kool aid.
Here are her bright red tips!
She also got to have a friend spend the night.

Jordan had summer baseball practice at Bender.

Practiced went to about 8.
After that we all went to Milt's for pizza.
Then it was home for relaxation and bed.

final field trip

Yesterday I got to go along with Jordan's kindergarten class on their final field
trip of the year. I was in charge of group of three boys including Jordan.
We boarded the bus around 9:45 and headed to the Lynden Pioneer Museum.
We were free to walk around with our group and check out the different exhibits.
We also had little passport books to collect stamps in. Jordan mostly cared about
finding the stamps. Another little boy (he is so sweet) wanted me to take his picture
with everything.  The third little guy loved checking the war stuff and more interested
in actually checking everything out.
{not the best pictures}

From the museum we walked to the Lynden Library.
There we planted flowers outside of the library.

Then we went inside and I read books to my little group.
Jordan was getting pretty tired so he was content listening
to three books about Batman that the other boys picked out.
Then it was time to walk to the Lynden City Park for lunch
and play time. We had a birthday boy so we also got a special treat of ice cream!

After getting to play for a while we headed back to the bus to return to school.

Flashback Friday

I get the opportunity to help out in Jordan's class once a week
and attend most activities, parties and field trips.

This got me thinking back to when Michelle was in Kindergarten.
Even though I didn't get to volunteer regularly in her class
I was able to attend most of her class activities, parties, concerts
and field trips.  I decided for this flashback Friday to share some of Michelle's
Kindergarten class pictures of events I was able to attend!
Michelle attended Kindergarten {2006-2007} at Fisher.

Michelle got to bring Jordan as her show and tell!
Aren't they just so cute?!
As you can see the class loved meeting him!

Mother's day tea
I can still remember one of the songs they sang to us.
I love my mom

I was able to find the song here if you would like to listen.
I searched for a good twenty minutes for a video but I haven't
found one in my picture archives.

End of the year field day!
