Fishtrap Creek Kids

We live by a little creek that runs through Lynden.
The kids love to go the creek and hang out with their friends in the neighborhood.
Last year they fixed up the rope swing.
This year it a favorite summer day pass time.
They had made up different moves to use on the rope swing.
I hope this is something they look forward to every year
and make lots of great memories to remember of fun summer days at the creek!
The past few days I have gone with the kids to watch and take lots of pictures!
Of course I had to make a video.

Fun in the Sun {Cle Elum}

This weekend we went to Cle Elum and stayed at Suncadia for Josh's work summer regional.
The kids were super excited.
Michelle was looking forward to seeing her friends from last year.
We got there about noon and were able to check in right away.
The kids immediately made themselves at home and put all their stuff away.

Josh and I were ready for a nap.

He had a meetings at 2 and then we had a meeting together at 4.
After that we had dinner together with the entire region.

The next day we woke up to rain :(
The kids were happy to lounge around for a while.
When they got restless we went to check out the indoor pool
that had two slides!
They didn't open until noon so the kids wanted to wait to swim.

Josh had meetings until about noon then they are free for the rest of the day.
He took the kids swimming while I relaxed in silence for a little bit.
We again had dinner with the region.
It was supposed to be an outdoor bbq but due to weather they moved it inside.
They did decide to still do s'mores which was a lot of fun.

They were very tired by the time we got them into bed.

Saturday morning they slept in for a bit but we had to go down for breakfast by 9.
The morning we lounged for a bit then I had a spouse meeting
and the kids got to go to childcare for a bit.

We ate lunch in the room then headed to town to check out a meat shop
Josh heard about from someone.
When we got back Josh went to play basketball
and I took the kids swimming.
Jordan wanted to jump in so badly but wanted someone to catch him.
I didn't wear my suit so I finally just dropped him in.

That night was the awards dinner for the adults
and the kids had a pizza party with the child care.

This was our last night.
Sunday morning we packed up and headed home.
We spent the rest of the day outside
enjoying the sunshine that finally decided to come out.

Afternoon at the Beach

On Tuesday Christine invite me along to go out to Semiahmoo Beach with her!
I wasn't sure at first since it looked like it was going to rain
but we did!
I am glad we did because when we got there the sky was blue!
Plus this can fall under explore new parks in
Whatcom County on our Fun in the Sun list!
The kids had a blast and we stayed for about 2 hours.
Actually Jordan was over it after 15 minutes but
was a good sport.
Here is a cute video I made of our time!
{I did post this on facebook but it only lasted 10 minutes before they removed it}

Father's Day

When I got up Sunday morning Jordan already had breakfast set up for him and Josh!
He really wanted to give daddy a big bowl of frosted flakes.
Such a sweet little man.

But daddy really wanted breakfast burritos so Jordan ate the cereal
and helped  me delivery daddy his breakfast.

Josh really wanted to take Jordan and go play some golf but it poured all day Saturday
and Sunday wasn't looking much better for golf.
Saturday night I brought up going to Castle Fun Park in Canada and doing some mini golf.
He was excited about that.
Michelle woke up with a headache and feeling dizzy.
I gave her Tylenol and lots of fluid.
We let her sleep until 1 and then talked her into going.
She brought along her snuggy and pillow.
I filled a cup full with Mountain Dew {something she never gets}
and we headed out.

By the time we hit the Lynden Border she had perked up a bit.
{We had a little wait}

When we were about there she was fixing her hair and all smiles!

We started off with mini golf, then go carts, lots of games, and batting cages for Josh!

We headed home to bbq some dinner.

While we ate we watched the church service live because
got to be a part of the Father's Day video they played.

We finished off the day with icecream at DQ.
It was a great family day and turned out perfect.
