will the sun come out tomorrow?

I have high hopes of summer returning to us tomorrow!
It has been warm, muggy, cloudy and rainy all week.
I even had to do my couch to 5K in the rain this morning.
Hard to get in the summer spirit when it is blah out.
Jordan did attend day camp this week at our church.
We can now cross that off our fun in the sun list!
Jordan also had two summer league baseball games this week.
It rained during both games but they still played on.
He played pitcher tonight for the first two innings and took
it very serious. Not the actual fielding of the ball but counting
the pitches each batter got. The first inning they each got ten
to swing at and after that five. He counted out loud and on
his fingers. He made sure the coach knew how many they got.

After Jordan's game tonight we hit up Costco for some shelving
for the garage. It needs a deep organizing/cleaning. I figured with the next
four days off and the sunshine supposedly coming out it was a good time
to tackle it. I will start tomorrow going through everything and moving it
to one side of the garage. Josh has to work and then gets to go to a
Mariner game tomorrow. Hopefully Saturday he will be ready to tear
down our old shelf and put together some new ones.
I am sure I will do a before and after post with pictures.

Michelle has been in and out during the week.
She is a social butterfly and loves hanging out with her friends.
We did have her home home Wednesday afternoon and evening.
We actually got in a sit down family dinner before church.

Josh and I were able to get a date night Tuesday night.
We went to dinner and a movie.

I should be going to sleep so I can get up to do my couch to 5K
but playing around on the computer is winning right now.

extra long weekend

We had an extra long weekend around here.
It started Thursday early morning.
Every year Josh's work has summer regional for all the
advisers and their families. We stay in nice hotels, they feed us,
they plan a few family activities, advisers have meetings, spouses have
two meetings and their is an award dinner Saturday night. In the afternoons
their is plenty of free time to relax, swim or adventure out to explore.
This year it was in Stevenson, Wa and they stayed at the Ska Mania Lodge.
I was unable to go with Josh and the kids because I too was up early but I headed
to the hospital to be there for the birth of my sister's baby Ezra!
More on that soon I promise! It was raining pretty hard on the drive down.
They made a lunch stop at Mcdonalds and also checked out the Nike outlet store.

The next day after Josh had his morning meetings he took them
out on a hike. Jordan loved sitting and watching a passing train.

They also checked out the Bonneville Lock and Dam.

That evening they had a bbq outside along with a baseball game and s'mores.

More meetings for Josh the next morning.
I did get a call from Michelle telling me Jordan was
bouncing off the wall after his DS died. Being the awesome
big sister she is she let Jordan watch garbage truck you tube
videos on her computer.
On their way to the pool they ran into Jake Locker.

That night Josh had his award dinner.  It was a mardi gras theme
so everyone wore masks and beads. Yes that is the seat I should have been
sitting in. Next year I will be there!

Sunday is pack up all your stuff and come home day.
Josh wanted to take them by Mt. St. Helen's on the way home.

They didn't get back until 7.
I dinner almost ready for them.
After that Michelle was dying to meet Ezra
so we rode bikes to her house for a quick visit.

Today Jordan started Kids camp at North County Christ the King.
He will continue that through Thursday.
He has summer baseball tonight (fingers crossed) and Thursday night.
Michelle is off to a friends house to spend the night.
We are going to try and fit in a few of our activities on our fun in the sun
list through out the week!

getting fit! getting healthy!

First off I need to throw in a picture of my adorable little nephew Ezra Andrew!
He was born Thursday night weighing in at 8lbs 7oz.
More on him to come with probably lots of pictures!

It is time again for an update on my never ending struggle with
getting fit and healthy. I posted a couple weeks ago with an update and about using
my blog to help hold me accountable. I forgot to share the link on facebook
if you want to read it. It is short :)

On Monday Josh and I started the Advocare 24 day Challenge!
I am on day 6 today and still in the cleanse phase.
I am "supposed" to be eating super clean and smaller meals with snacks
through out the day.  I would say I am doing pretty good.
Keeping up with my green smoothies for breakfast, salad for lunch
and a mix of things for dinner. If I need a snack I try to go for an
apple or string cheese.  I did have an off day when I spent 17 hours
at the hospital with my sister! I ate quite a bit of toast and saltines from the
"snack" room and fruit leather from my bag.
I did choice whole wheat on both the bread and the crackers
if that gets me any brownie points.
I weighed myself today and I am already down 4 pounds!
I can't believe it! I am hoping the scale isn't playing with my emotions.
This really motivates me though to stick with the plan and eat even cleaner!
I do need to kick up the exercise. All I have managed this week is one
morning of couch to 5k and a three mile walk with my sister in law.
We had all the kids with us on bikes and a pause at bender to play but we
were moving so that is good! I am aiming for three days of couch to 5k
and hopefully one power pump class this week. My schedule is pretty busy
this next week with extra kiddos, baseball, Jordan is doing VBS and just life.

I am going to try to have Saturday's as my update day!
At the end of the 24 days I will share weight loss, inches lost
and if really brave before & after pictures!

U-pick strawberries

We are on a roll with our fun in the sun list!
Yesterday afternoon Christine, her boys, Jana, Cohen, my kids and me
all drove out to Boxx Berry Farm to do some strawberry picking.
We have gone quite a few years now.
It is a very relaxed trip. We go for the "experience".
The kids are getting more and more into each year now that they are older.
Each child got a bucket to and we just leisurely fill up and row to pick.
Cohen loved helping Michelle by dropping the strawberries into the bucket.
Even Jana who is 40 weeks pregnant was out there picking!
Her due date was yesterday so we are excitedly awaiting the arrival
of Ezra any day or night now!

Jordan loved the whole process.
It was very serious "work" for him.
We always say he should have been born on a farm.

Jordan also started summer baseball league last night.
He is playing with all older boys but he is doing quite well.
It is his first time hitting off the pitching machine.
He did end up hitting a shot down the first base line.
It went right past the first base man and he ended up with
an in the park home run!
He was super excited and all his teams mates were
cheering him on!

Today I continue the wait for baby Ezra to make his arrival!
If he decides to wait I will have date night with Josh tonight!
Happy Tuesday!
