advent activities {days 16 - 22}

day 16

{color Christmas pictures together}

Michelle wasn't feeling well and actually went to bed early this night.

This is one of those more simple activities that brings us all together.

In the past I have covered the entire table in a huge piece of paper 

and we all draw on it.

day 17

{make gifts for teachers}

This never happened unfortunately.

Michelle and I ended up with the stomach flu.

I spent the entire day sick on the couch.

day 18

{joke and a candy}

knock! knock!

Who's there?

snow.

Snow who?

Snow use, I have forgotten my name again.

haha!

day 19

{cousin sleepover by the tree}

This is a traditional activity that we have done for several years.

This year we added in swimming, a snack bar for the movie

and a glow stick dance party.

{Christmas books with ice cream}

{write a Christmas story together}

I printed up a couple Christmas mad libs for us all to fill out together.

The kids weren't that in to it but we did complete one.

I was a little bummed I thought they would love it.

day 22

{Christmas lights at Warm Beach}

I am not very good at night time pictures

so a lot these are kind of blurry. 

The had a "toy shop" where you could a toy to make.

Michelle choose a top.

Jordan just wanted to play in a little play area.

They have a polar express train.

Cousin Sleepover

Wednesday was sleepover night with the cousins.

This has become an annual event starting about 3 years ago!

Hopefully we can add Cohen into the fun next year!

We started off the the afternoon with swimming at Homestead.

I was hoping this would wear off some we are REALLY excited energy!

You get these three together and it is nonstop energy.

Even at the pool with your cousins if you don't listen you get a time out.

Since Michelle is the only girl I let her have a
friend join us for the slumber party.

After swimming and working up an appetite we

headed over to Milt's pizza for dinner.

  

On the way home we drove past the house in town

that has lights that "dance" to the sound of music!

Eli and I could have watched it all night.

Josiah and Jordan thought it was cool for a song

but over it after that.

Once we arrived home the kids set up their beds

while I prepared the movie theater snack bar.

Before I passed out their spending money I made them

sit still long enough to snap a few pictures.

The nights movies were Alvin and the chipmunks Christmas

and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

The girls grabbed snacks and disappeared upstairs for the night.

 After the movies were started in the bed time process.
Along the way a glow stick party started that lasted another hour
before it got shut down for bed time for reals this time.

After this we left them to sleep over with relaxing Christmas music playing!

They finally fell asleep around 10:30pm only to wake up at 5:30am.

It was a lot of fun and the kids expressed they had a good time.
