Cheers to new beginnings!

With each new year that comes it gives me a chance
to start fresh with new goals and a new sense of I got this.
I usually make a list of things I want to work on in different areas
of my life. This year I am keeping it simple with one thing.
Time.
I feel that I am always saying where did that week, month or year go.
Time is slipping past me faster then I can keep up.
I want to grab a hold of time and be right there present with it.
I feel if I can use my time to make everyday a great day then
I can't have any regrets when I say where did the time go.

In the past few weeks I have set small goals and I am sticking to them.
I feel accomplished at the end of the day instead of beating myself up
with all the things I should have done but didn't.
One thing that is helping me out in a huge way is my Erin Condren planner!
This planner is amazing! I look to it through out the day to see what needs
to be done and remind myself of the goals for the day!

Here is how I am making sure each day rocks!

Planning.
On Sunday I sit down and fill out my planner with where I need to be and when each day.
From there I can make my to do list based on if I will be home or not.
I also have a daily checklist of things that I can do most everyday
whether I am super busy or not.

Being active.
The next most important thing is my health goals for each day.
I am making health/fitness a priority over everything else going
on each day! I now get up the same time each day, reach those 10,000 steps and get in
a workout.

Cooking.
Get this....I made dinner four nights last week!
That is a huge deal for me. I have let dinner go the last year.
Now I meal plan and prep ahead of time! I am taking time on Sunday
that I would normally veg out because well its Sunday. Not anymore.
I am not giving myself reasons anymore to be plain lazy.
And guess what...I feel so much better at the end of the day then when
I would sit on the couch all day watching football and playing on my phone.
duh...forehead slap.

Routine.
I thrive off a routine or schedule written out for the day.
That way when I am walking way off the path I can redirect myself back.

Less phone time.
I am can admit I am a iPhone junkie.
Pinterest, facebook, candy crush, instagram, aphabetty, ect.
I would constantly be picking up my phone to do the following.
I say real quick to myself but then you look up and guess what I would say
where did the time go.

Me time.
What does me time look like or what I wish it did if I used it right.
Reading
taking a bath
project life
blogging
journaling
vacation smash book
taking pics
editing pics
basically being creative

Hoping to keep all this up through out the year!
Cheers to new beginnings!

blog everyday

One of my goals for 2013 was to blog more.
So October was the month I was going to try and blog everyday.
As you can see I have already missed two days but I am not
going to let that stop me! During this month I want to not only blog
about the day to day stuff but other topics as well.
I have a list of ideas so hopefully you will get to read about some of them!

This week has already been crazy busy.
Monday Jordan was home sick with a mild stomach flu bug.
Tuesday Michelle had a fast pitch scrimmage game and Jordan
had a flag football practice game against a 3rd grade team in the pouring rain.
Wednesday I had a parent volunteer team get together to plan for the school carnival
that is next week Friday! We have a lot of fun games planned and some great auction baskets!
Michelle was supposed to have a late fast pitch game but it got canceled due to rain
so we were able to sit down to dinner as a family and go to church!
I even made a beef stew in the crock pot! First one of the fall season!
Today is my errand/help in Jordan's class day!
I am also going to take Josh out for an early birthday lunch!
Tonight Jordan has flag football game at 5:45pm and
Michelle has her make up game at 6pm at Bender.

I need to get my butt moving so I can get all my errands done, have time for lunch
and make it back to Lynden in time to help in Jordan's class!
I will leave with a few flag football pictures from Tuesday.

Decluttering and Organizing

New years goal #2 is to declutter and organize!
I have a list or areas I have been meaning to get to for
quick a while and just haven't.
My Target areas are
Jordan's room
Michelle's clothes
Top hall closet
toy closet under the stairs
above the washer and dryer
under the island in the kitchen
my corner cupboard that holds my Tupperware
and the big one
the garage!

Today I tackled Jordan's room because
I knew it would be the most easy one.
He has a ton of stuff between his angry bird collection,
garbage trucks, cans and his "garbage",
and a ton of small toys that are always
covering his floor.

A few before pictures

It took about an hour and it looked like this!

I got this nice large, wide drawer storage thing at Wal-mart yesterday
with his angry birds in mind. They all fit nicely plus he has a
toy treasure drawer. A drawer for all his little collectibles or toys
that don't really have a home.

It feels good to tackle one area on the list.
I plan to do the toy closet next which has become
a dumping/hiding area.  My mom also gave us a tub and box
of legos which Jordan loves but they weren't working with the space.
I sorted through them today and they are now organized in
another drawer organizer thing.

It was a long process but worth it.
Jordan had fun discovering different pieces I came across

Tomorrow is ten on ten!!!
This is where I take pictures every hour for ten hours.
You are supposed to take one but I usually end up with more.
It is a fun way to get a day in the life in pictures!

I will do a getting fit! getting healthy! update on Monday.
That will the end of the first official week.
Hopefully I will see something positive on the scale!
