date night with my little man

Tonight I got to have a dinner date with my little man.
Having date nights with the kids is something we try to make time
for regularly. It does get forgotten about with busy months flying by.
When we are really on top of it we do it twice month so that
each child gets a date night with each parent.
You can check out two previous dates here

This was actually a spur of the moment outing.
Josh was in Bellingham having dinner with his siblings
and Michelle went with friends to the high school football game.

We went down the road to the Nuthouse.
He loves throwing peanuts everyone.
He brought along his own crayons and paper to draw.
It was fun to have unitterupted time to talk with him.
We talked along about hot dogs believe or not because
he wanted the mini corn dogs. Which led to how we
thought hot dogs got there name.
We then had to Google how hot dogs got there name.

When we got home we had some great snuggle time
while he played Minecraft. I love that even though he keeps getting
older he still loves his snuggle time, hugs, his head rubbed
and even a kiss on his head before he leaves for school.
I always ask him if he will still snuggle me when he high school.
He always say yes which warms my heart but I am pretty sure he won't.
Makes me super sad and cherish these moments together that much more.

Josh and Jordanare now off
at basketball practice while I enjoy an hour of quiet
besides the X-factor on tv.

busy, quick day

As you may have noticed from instagram and my day to day facebook page
I shared a lot of pictures today! I was doing a day in the life in photos!
If you haven't liked my facebook page yet you should!
I post all my blog posts and instagram pictures there!

Today was not a normal Wednesday for me since Monday was a holiday.
Usually it is a pretty laid back day with just Jordan and I.
But today we had two extra kiddos join us
including my nephew Cohen.
I also still had most other two nephews after school.

It was a busy but very quick day!
I had a lot of fun today and still had energy to
spare after the kids were in bed.
That is rare for me.

Here is a peak into our day thanks to my iphone!

8:20 am
This little man came during breakfast so he joined me for some
banana muffins and went to town on my smoothie.
He was loving watching Jordan crawl around like a dog.
He finally couldn't take it anymore and started signing all done
and trying to rip his bib off. He just wanted to get down and play.

9:15 am
After I got the breakfast dishes cleaned up
and got down on the floor to play.  He was playing
with one of Jordan's garbage cans putting a piece of paper in
and then dumping it on the floor. Then repeat.
I decided to throw together a sensory bin for him with
some cups for dumping and pouring.
He  loved it.
He knew to throw the bouncy balls and they would bounce all
over the kitchen.  He knew the marbles wouldn't
bounce so he would hand them to me.
{just a side note- he was never left unattended with the marbles :)}
I had a  cute video of him scooted around holding two
cups collecting the balls but somehow it it got deleted.

I love when he comes over and backs his little tushie up
and plops right in my lap to hang out.

Jordan created some new Mario Worlds.

10:00 am
snack time

After snack we headed out the front door to the deck.
Time for a change of scenery and to run off some energy.
I also brought out the bubble machine which Jordan and Nolan loved.
Cohen wasn't so sure about it and sat very close to me the whole time.
He did start laughing at the bubbles (or the kids) after a while.

11:02 am
When we started getting cold and the deck a little slippery
we headed back in for more playing.

11:30 am
While the kiddos busy playing with cars
I headed to kitchen to make lunch.
Cohen quickly figured out what I was up too.
He was at my side signing more over and over.
After a few minutes he came back with his coat.
I guess I wasn't cooking fast enough and he was ready to leave.

After lunch we played a while longer then cleaned up for rest time.
Cohen got picked up.
Nolan was out like a light.
Jordan had quiet time in his room.

Rest time is usually over by 2:30 when Michelle comes home.
If Nolan is really tired he will sleep through all that.
Kids had some time on electronics before Josiah and Eli
arrived. My plan was to walk to Edaleen but the rain came
and stayed. Instead I made a snack bag for them and
they watched Inspector Gadget.

4:30 pm
When the movie was over they had the choice to play
CALMLY or start on homework.  They wanted to play
so they did and calmly.  I think I only had to remind them once.
They played legos, guess who, and some game where Eli's house
{aka the toy closet} kept catching on fire. Which also involved
taking pictures and other stuff I caught pieces of.
While all this was going on I started dinner and did dishes.

Then it was dinner for the kidlets.
homework. reading. cleanup.
I finally got to eat.

Grampa pick up boys for Awana.
Then Josh and I had date night with the kids.
Josh and Jordan went swimming.
Michelle and I headed to get pedicures
so we had pretty toes for California!

Michelle went with sparkles while I went with red tips and polka dots!

We went to Edaleen after so Michelle could get some ice cream.

We got back around 7:45 pm.  Usually by now I am ready to crawl into bed too.
Tonight for some odd reason I still had energy.
I finished the dishes,
Cleaned and swept the kitchen,
and vacuumed!

It was a great day and I loved all of it!

Kid Dates

Saturday afternoon we made time to have dates with the kids.

Jordan and I headed out to Woods Coffee with a bag full of games!

We got there ordered our drinks & a cookie.
We got the comfy couch by the fire.

Jordan grabs his hot chocolate and goes to set it down.
Some how it slips out of his hand, the lid comes off, and it goes all over his lap.
Jordan HATES having his clothes wet and when at home changes immediately.
I was expecting him to have a total melt down and want to go home and change.
But he had a moment.
We grabbed napkins and tried to wipe his pants off.
I asked if he wanted to go and he said no.
So we pulled out paper and played tic tac toe.

Then we move on to angry bird sorry.
Jordan again spills his hot chocolate.

Jordan ends up winning even with me already having three pigs in my home.

We then play a half game of memory and do a puzzle before heading home.

When we get home Josh and Michelle are in the middle of a game of yahtzee.
I quickly capture some pictures so I have some of their time together too!

They had also made brownies which were finally cool enough to eat!

Michelle had a great time and by far the brownies were her favorite part.
They also sang karaoke another favorite activity of Michelle's!
