week in the life {Wednesday}

Our morning routine is pretty much the same.
Wake up and check phone.
I always check the weather too.
I like to know what to expect for the days to come.

I am finding it hard to come up with new ways to
document. These pictures may look similar to the days past.
Made and ate breakfast, got the dishwasher loaded up with dishes and
started it, got Jordan ready for school and had time to play on the deck with
a ball. He loves throwing/kicking it back and forth to each other until we spot
the bus.

After Jordan got off to school I headed over to Christine's to work out. Quick came home and showered and was right back out the door to head to the school to help put together auction baskets for our school carnival next week.

Back made my go to salad for lunch. I eat this salad about every day.

Listening to pandora while I go through Tuesday's pictures.

Michelle home from school. After her snack I asked her to unload the dishwasher while I washed the dishes in the sink. This did not go over well. Her bad attitude came out so she ended up losing her iPod for the rest of the day. Which led her going up to her room to grump as soon as she was done. Life is rough.

After Jordan was done with his homework the kids asked if they could go to the shell down the road. I said yes so they would have something to do and I could have a few minutes of quiet. I was a little cranky this afternoon and trying my best to not let it show. They came back with lots of goodies. Jordan got chocolate milk, a caramel apple sucker and a tootsie pop. Michelle got a sprite, chips and gum.

It was thin time to start dinner.
While the mini chicken pies were in the oven I had Jordan read to me.

In the mail today we got two new movies The Indian in the Cupboard and Friday Night Lights to watch with the kids this weekend.

After dinner we all hung out in the living room for a bit watching the World Series game. We are not a baseball watching family but josh and Jordan have enjoyed keeping up with it. While watching the game Josh planned basketball practice for Jordan's team while the kids "played" together until one of them ended crying. This is when I disappeared to go take a bubble bath and read a book. Josh left shortly after with Jordan to coach practice. The gym they were supposed to use wasn't unlocked so they ended going to the Y to practice.

When kids were settled in bed Josh and I watched a couple shows. Wednesday night is the night that almost all out shows record.

California vacation {day 1}

The kids had midwinter break last week so we decided we needed a vacation!
Last Saturday we left the snow behind us to fly to brighter, sunnier skies!
We got a condo right on Newport beach, CA for the week!
I couldn't have have asked for anything more. I love the beach and sun
so I was in absolute heaven! I am also so happy that we went with a condo this time.
A lot more room for everyone to spread out, a view a the beach out our window,
lots of windows that created so much light, a kitchen to cook in and a washer/dryer to
clean clothes. Our condo also provided for us everything we would need to cook,
beach towels, beach chairs, beach toys, a surfboard and boogie boards. I was very
in love with our condo and was ready to buy it and move in. Almost had Josh on board
if he didn't have a job to do once we got back. We are considering a transfer in our future.

We left Saturday on our flight around 1ish. It started to snow right before we were getting
ready to leave. Once in California we had to play the waiting game quite a bit. Wait to get
off the plane, wait for luggage, wait for the rental car and then wait to get to our destination.
It was pretty late by the time we got to our condo.
We made a stop for groceries on the way.
We let the kids relax a bit before telling them lights out.

I tried to keep the pictures down to a minimum. If you know me you know I take lots.
After going through all my pictures from the trip I have them down to 1,300. I may have to go
through them a few more times. I hate deleting them because each one makes me happy and is
a moment I want to remember. Collages will help for blog posts.
Come back for day two hopefully tomorrow for fun beach pictures!

ten on ten

ten on ten button

once a month on the tenth
taking a photo every hour for ten consecutive hours.
Finding much life and beauty
among the ordinary things of our day!

Yesterday was a just a plain old busy day.
It was a day full of two adorable babies who love to cuddled, tickled,
have you get silly with them, feed them, change them and love them.

It was a day full of two toddler boys who love to be super silly with each other, chase each other,
get out a bucket of toys to dump out to explore for five minutes and then be on to the next, love to play cars
and trains together, to color, to make each other laugh and be goofy over lunch.
It was a day full of a kindergartner who loves to draw, get crafty,
love on the babies, give them hugs and tickles too and to be my little helper.

It was a day full of squeezing in cleaning, dishes and
setting up in preparation for bunco at my house.
Then a repeat after all the ladies had gone home.

It was a day of multiple parties one here one at Josh's office.
We were sharing tables, the vacuum, and food which all arrived
ten minutes prior to bunco beginning!

It was an evening of running around for Josh. Home from his party, back out to
go coach Jordan's basketball team, back home only to find out I forgot to tell
him to pick up Michelle and her friend, back out and home again.

At the end of the night though all was well and quiet.
I got to enjoy some wine and show with my love.
It was busy but a fun, good busy.

Sunday Sunday

Today is my finally day in this week long adventure!
I am so glad I did it to capture this time in our lives.
I am also glad to be done because it is a lot of work to remember
to grab for the camera and capture the day!

Even kidless I still woke up fairly early.
I made myself some coffee and checked facebook.
Today at the hotel we were staying at my Aunt was getting married!
That is the reason why we stayed down the night before.
It was a lot of fun to see family that I only get to see once or twice a year.

We made it home in time for the Seahawk game!
The kids were there waiting for us with my sister in law
who watched them overnight for us!
We had a very relaxing evening watching the game, listening to the thunder,
watching the lightning and playing on electronics.
Michelle did have some homework to finish up.
