All righty here is my week 12!
Slow but surely I will catch up!
Still doing way better then my past 5 years!!
That there is a win!
I owe it all to my link up lol.

For this layout I used a mix of cards and embellishments.
I am finding myself always drawn to using me & my big ideas
various embellishments. Love them!

I also I got me kids involved this week.
Jordan wrote down a list of hobbies for me.
They are quite cute so be sure to read them.
Michelle wasn't home today when I put together this
layout so I left a journal card for her to fill out.
She went on a hike with two of her good friends
and I want her to write it about for me since I wasn't there.
Enjoy!

#myselfiescrapbook | week 1

When I learned about a group of ladies I follow on instagram
were doing a challenge to document yourself throughout the month of April
through selfies I knew I wanted to join. I have been working on getting in more
pics this year and an album about "me".
It was created to help us tell our stories with prompts given each week.

The first week was short and all about just getting started.
Here is my first layout of selfies to document the first few days
in April. I did Wednesday through Sunday on my first layout
because the next week they gave us a list of prompts to use.

I am putting my pages into my 6 x 8 project life planner
album I started which is now my all about me album for the year.

I am linking up to the blog hop over at Jen's blog Sunlight and Air

If you would like to follow along with me
during the week you can on both my

Easter Weekend

I am so far behind in my blogging about family life that I am not even going
to attempt to catch up. The thought of trying to do that totally stresses me out.
I am just going to start up here with Easter!

What works for our family to share the holidays between
my family and Josh's is to go every other holiday. One family
gets Easter the other Thanksgiving and then whoever
had Thanksgiving gets Christmas Eve and the other family gets us Christmas day
The next year we do the opposite. Whoever had Easter gets Thanksgiving ect.

One thing we so every Easter no matter what is an annual cousin Easter egg
hunt with my family. This year we did on Saturday along with a picnic lunch.
The sun even made an appearance. It was so warm when it was out but the
minute it was behind the clouds brrrr... Everyone was grabbing for sweatshirts.

We ate a lunch then set the kids free to grab as many eggs as they could.
It was really a hunt as they were just all thrown in the grass. We
met at the "little park" that is located by us all.
Before everyone else arrived my sister asked me to get a few
pics of my adorable nephews. She even made them little bow ties.
Before the kids were allowed to hunt we required them to
take their annual cousin pic! I love these pics.
It is amazing how much they grow year to year.

Sunday we went to church and then headed to Josh's parents house.
We had  great time visiting, eating and lots of laughs.
Jordan has taken quite a liking to Grampa and the two were inseparable.
They took there dog Lou on a walk and then after lunch they went to the beach.
His dad mentioned that after walking a bit Jordan wanted to sit on a bench.
He asked him what they should do and he said just talk.
Jordan is such a time guy. He loves to just spend time with you
whether it being going on a walk or snuggling up with a movie.
Which they did when they got back. They watched Smurfs 2.

Memories, emotions and dance through music

I recently completed a list of my all time favorite songs.
There are way to many to list. This got me to thinking
about music and the impact it has on my life. Which
lead me to journaling to add to my list.
Here is what I write in the journaling.

I have always loved music.
Both listening and singing along.
Music for me holds memories and feelings.
It is a way for to express myself when the words aren't there.

I would love it if my life could be an endless Glee show.
I could have a group of spirited singers with me all day
that would burst out into song through out the day.
We would sing together with passion through the days
struggles and joys.

When the kids are at school and it is a day I will be home I like
to grab my phone, plug in headphones and listen to Pandora.
I have three different stations for different moods.
I have A Thousand Years Radio for my more quieter times or
just need some easy listening. Glee Radio for when I am moving
about doing laundry or cleaning. The third one is Pop and hip hop
workout for when I go running or need to break out some dance moves.
If I put my headphones on I am always sure to lock the front door so
I am not caught belting out songs at the top of my lungs.

Music also has a way to bring up emotions.
It can bring me to tears as I go back to a time in my life
that was really hard or special.  I have two songs that always come
right to my mind that can have me in tears. The first is I Promise
You by N'SYNC.  I can not get through this song with out tears pouring
down my face. This song takes me back to when I was 18, a senior in
high school and pregnant.  I would drive to work, this song would come on
the cd I had in. With tears streaming down my face I would sing this song to
my daughter with a hand on my round belly. I knew I loved her so much already
and wanted her to know that no matter what I would be there for her.

The second song Just a Dream by Nelly also takes me back to me
in the car. This time I am driving down the freeway to go be with
my sister and preemie nephew in the NICU. The song came
on and I was singing along and it got towards the end to
a verse that says "If you ever loved some body puts your hands up.
Now they're gone and you're wishing you could give them everything"
This made my start bawling and I still do every time I hear it because it
takes me back to that moment and those feelings. My sister had recently
given birth to twins at 25 weeks. My little nephew Carter gave this world
his best  try but his little body just wasn't able. I felt so sad
for her and the loss of my nephew Carter. I wanted so badly for there to
be something that I could do for her to take away her hurt and loss.  To
have my nephew back in her arms to fill that empty void. But there was
nothing I could do but be with her and Cohen. So I drove on, singing
and crying on the freeway.

Music is something that is special to me.
It holds so many memories and has helped work through
frustrations, hard ache, helped me celebrate and express my feelings.
I will never tire of listening, remembering good times and the not so good,
singing my heart out, and getting my dance groove on.
No matter your mood, thoughts or feelings there is a song.

Project Life: 7 steps to complete a layout in small pockets of time

As you know I have already been following behind on Project Life.
At least I know I am not alone in this.
I have been reading Jessica Turner's new book The Fringe Hours.
This book is has really hit home with me.
I am a time waster and this is all about taking your free time
whether is be a little pocket of time or a few fringe hours to do something you love.
We all have those little pockets of time through out the day.
Five minutes here and there that we would normally just grab our
phone and veg out until time for the next task or we are needed.
I decided to take my little pockets of time and use them to do things
that bring me joy and happiness. One of those things being completing
each day a small task to create my project life layout for the week.
I get overwhelmed sometimes thinking I have to sit down and complete it all at once.
Here are some steps I came up with to slowly complete my layout during the week.
Each step takes about no longer then 15 minutes which is perfect for
little pockets of time in your day or week.

Step 1: Decide on photos
Go through the weeks pics from phone and camera and pick which ones you want to use.
Also keep in mind what pocket layout you are using. To make things easier for me I use the same layout every week design A.

 Step 2: Print up pictures
I print up pics from my phone using project life app for 3x4s and print them from my
canon selphy printer. Cut pics if needed. If you don't have a home printer then get pics ordered.

Step 3: Pick your cards
Look through cards and pick enough cards to fill in the layout. I have all my cards sorted by kit and within each kit by color. When looking for cards I can either pick a kit or if want to search by certain
colors that is easy to do too.

Step 4: Journal your week
Write up journal cards using notes from the week, Instagram, Facebook, texts and calendar.
Another way is to take a little pocket of time each day to journal a little or
through out the day if you want to remember a certain conversation, way you felt during a moment, or something your child said.
Step 5: Bring everything together and put in or on layout.
I put all my stuff on top because I know I will be photographing
it after I am done for my blog.
Step 6: Add any special touches such as embellishments, letter stickers, stamps ect.
Also this is a good time to look over writing and check for errors.
Halfway through the layout below I realized I had the wrong dates.
I included a close up pic on how I fixed it.

Step 7: Photograph for blog and put in album

A few new things are happening this week!
After some feedback from fellow bloggers I am going
to make my link up open for the month.  I will still
post weekly but this gives more bloggers a chance to link
up.

Each week I would like to have a different blog post
featuring a different blogger, favorite project life pinterest finds of the week,
a giveaway, and then a monthly wrap up. Please let me know if
you and your blog would like to be featured!

Also to help spread the word I am going to require you to link back to my blog.
This will help promote the link up more and get the word out there so we can
hopefully get more participation.

Here are my digital pages for last week using the app!
