Off Thursday

Almost every Thursday I get a day "off".  

I take this day off of babysitting and my amazing mom 

picks Jordan up from preschool to have for the day!

I am so grateful for my mom. 

Lately Michelle has been getting to go there after school too!

Today I got to spend the day with Cohen!

When he arrived he was due for a nap soon but not without some playing first!

I actually set up the graco for the first time for him now that he is a mover!

I love that he is always all smiles when he wakes up and sees you!

We then best a good chunk of time eating, changing, playing outside,

 eating some more, and going on a walk!

Don't mind my cheesy self timer photos.

I am trying to embrace the camera more and be in photos.

We also had a mini photo shoot.

Tonight Jordan had Kindergarten readiness night at school.

He has been excited for this since we registered him.

Jordan loved visiting the classroom, coloring some pictures, 

and having a story time with the teachers in the classroom.  

While the kids were having fun the parents got a tour of the school!

He came back super excited!

He can't wait to start Kindergarten.

When we got home and I was tucking him into bed I told 

I was sad he wasn't my little baby anymore.

He was getting to be such a big boy.

He told me he would be my baby until he was 10 years old.

He is such a sweet boy.

I love that he is all boy but still had a soft side that likes to cuddle and say I love you!

Off Thursday

I really look forward to my "off" Thursdays and having a little me time.

I dragged myself out of bed a little after 7 before the kids were wake.

I walked down the stairs and laid back down on the couch with a snuggy.

Not even a minute later Jordan came stumbling down the stairs.

He walked around the corner with tired little eyes and his blanket.

I asked if he wanted to watch a show.

I put one on for him and fell back asleep.

That one ended.

He asked about breakfast I said I would get him something at 8.

I was not ready to be awake yet. 

I just wanted a little bit more sleep.

I started another show and sorta dozed off.

That show ended to quickly but I dragged myself up and got him breakfast.

His favorite thing these days cereal.

I like that when he has cheerios he lets me add some banana slices to it.

I started my coffee.

Headed upstairs to get ready for the day.

Jordan finished came upstairs to to hang out with Josh and I.

Michelle got herself ready for school and then practiced people.

I drove Jordan to preschool today.

Then headed to Little Red Wagon to drop off a box of clothes and browse.

  

Then headed into Bellingham to Wal-mart.

I needed snacks for my trip, quick & easy food for the family while I am gone, 

and a few household items.

I ended up with more things then on my list but that happens every time I go to any store.

I even got brave and snapped a few pictures when I thought no one was around.

Of course as soon as I was taking these a lady was behind probably wondering  why 

I was taking pictures of my cart.

Oh well....

probably never see her again.

I didn't have the drive to shop anymore after that so headed home.

I unpacked everything.

My beach bag for trip is a little full.

I haven't even put my lap top or books in there yet.

May have to lose some snacks.

I just wanted to be prepared because I get very agitated when I am hungry.

I am not pleasant to be around and it happens fast.

{I was just saying I needed a beach bag for trip and that night I won this one at Bunco!}

In other exciting news from my day my new battery for my laptop came!

My current one doesn't even last a good 20 minutes before it needs to get plugged in again.

That is not going to help me on a 6 hour flight.

My new battery should last 5 to 8 hours!

Yeah!

  

I decided I should dye my hair today.

One I had free time with no interruptions.

Two I wanted any dye I got on my arms, ears, and forehead to be gone by the time I left.

I always manage to get it everywhere.

I still working on my self portraits.

After all that I went to the store.

Cereal, hamburger helper, rice, pasta, and eggo waffles were on sale so I stalked up for when I was gone.

Trying to make it easy for Josh who doesn't normally do breakfast or dinner for the kids.

He usually just gets himself up and out the door.

Now he is going to have to get the kids ready too.

Should be interesting.

I try not to think about it or I stress.

I am used to do everything and it feels weird for to know I won't be there to do it.

I worry that he won't do the way I do it ect.

I am sure it will be fine.

I am writing everything out for him.

Step by Step.

Probably at little over the top but it makes me feel better.

Anyhoo.....

After the store I picked up Michelle to take her with me to get Jordan.

My brother is home visiting from college for a few days.

I tried to get some pictures of them but John is no help in that department.

He is a big kid himself.

 

 

Jordan and John played a few games of Mario Kart before we headed out.

 I asked him to smile and look like he was having fun!

Looks like fun to me....sorta.

 

When we were hugging goodbye Michelle made the great suggestion that he pick me up.

Ummmm....NO!

So of course I had to run away from him.

I tried curling up in a ball in the corner but that didn't work.

He sat on me and tickled me.

I DO NOT like to be tickled.

I hate it.

You laugh uncontrollably even though you are being tortured.

People don't listen when you are yelling stop and laughing at the same time.

My mom finally got him off of me.

Oh....John......

Got home put groceries away.

Ate leftovers.

Watched American Idol.

Put kiddos to bed.

Picked up & vacuumed.

Watched a show with popcorn.

Went to shake my drink thinking the lid was on and soaked myself, the couch, and floor in Vitamin Water.

Cleaned that up.

Finished show.

And now I am finishing this post.

Off Thursday

Almost every Thursday I get a day "off".

She really is amazing in all that she does for her family.  

She is there for us whenever we need her.  

She loves having the kids and that shows.  

I love her so much!

So what do I do with a day "off"?

It varies.....

sometimes I babysit Cohen

work on project life at Jana's

run errands

have lunch with Josh

catch up on cleaning

organize

catch up on blog posts

work on a project/craft

take a shower in peace (usually with music) and straighten my hair

there are few examples.

For those who may be interested I documented my day for through pictures!

I usually wake up same time.  

Get breakfast for kids

Get Jordan ready for preschool.

Michelle leaves about 8:30

Josh and Jordan leave about 8:45

So here is an "off" day in pics!

I had already started the dishes so figured I should finish those

After that was done I make myself some breakfast.....finally

Read in peace with no interruptions or distractions

I remember it is recycling day so take out 4 weeks worth since it was snowy the last day.

Gather up all the stuff that needs to get put away upstairs and head up

Pass by Michelle's bathroom and make a mental note that she needs to clean it..bad

After that time to clean our bathroom.  

It gets quite neglected and needs to get on a regular cleaning schedule.

Before I start cleaning I have to have some music to dance along too. 

Always a must for me

Lovingly put away Josh's clothes that have been sitting there for days

Running out of steam.....

Put clean sheets on and make bed

FINALLY put away kid's winter sheets

 Vacuum the upstairs

Start more laundry

ruin favorite black t-shirt with bleach.

I can get so much more done in few hours with no kids.  

With out the stopping to get this, look at this, help get this...ect. 

I LOVE my kids but every mommy needs a break now and then.

Finally sitting down and time to catch up on blog posts!

and some planning time for activities for Jordan.

By now it is a little after 3.  

Michelle comes home and starts in on homework.

I take my shower, do my hair, fold some laundry, and start dinner.

The rest of the evening is spent relaxing with the family.
