simple things sunday

This is the post where I will be sharing all
the pictures I took on my iphone during the week.
I have been taking more and more pictures on my
phone due to the fact it is a lot more portable
and quick to pull out and shoot.

Here are the little day to day happenings this week.

Monday
Josh and I enjoyed a few days in whistler
and today we headed home.

later that night at home we decorated the tree with the kids

Wednesday
This was a rough morning for me.
I came down and Jordan had opened his gifts.
Christmas morning kill joy :(
They are now re wrapped and under the tree.

He felt really bad and was my super helper the rest of the day.

I couldn't stay mad at him to long
especially when I see him sleeping so peacefully.

We had a new theater built in town!
For a few days there were offering movies for $2
and the money was going straight to the boys and girls club!

Josh and I took the kiddos along with their cousins to Finding Nemo in 3D.

Thursday
Today we pulled out the Christmas themed exploration tub!

built things!

Jordan took an interest in photo taking!

and ended the day with a warm bubble bath!

Friday
Snuggling up with a movie to end a busy day.

Saturday
When I got up in the morning
Jordan told he had turned the yuletide log on for us!
He knows how much I love.
I love that he loves it as much as I do.

Llater we drove down south to attend a family Christmas party!

Saw them and knew they would be perfect for this!

lesson learned

This morning I came downstairs to find Jordan
sitting on the couch playing DS.
This is usual Wednesday morning routine.
I lay around in bed a bit longer while he watches
a show or plays DS.
He then says look mom my 3DS.
Wait a minute that is supposed to be wrapped under the tree.
I then look over to the tree to see a small
pile of wrapping paper and presents.

Honestly I was in shock.
Neither of the kids have ever done this before.
I didn't know what to say
or what discipline action to take.
I was really disappointed that we wouldn't
have that excitement for Christmas morning
watching him open his gifts.

Now Jordan is somewhat of a sensitive child.
He hates Josh and or I being mad at him.
So I used this to my advantage and went on
to tell how disappointed I was that he had done that.
I told him mommy and daddy were really sad
because we didn't get to seem open his gifts.
He stared bawling.
I sat on the couch with him and talked about it.
He said he was sorry and that he felt bad.
I told him if he ever did this again that next time it would be a spank.
I could tell that he was genuinely felt bad.
I told him he would have to tell daddy sorry when he got home.
He then asked if he could call daddy now.
We called through face time and he broke down again
crying.  He finally got out I am sorry.
Hopefully he learned his lesson.

I am curious to know if this has happened to anyone else?
How did you handle it?
What sort of discipline did you take?

Zip line adventure

While in Whistler I wanted to do something
semi adventurous for my 30th b-day.
We decided on zip lining.
As soon as Josh officially booked it I started
getting super nervous and anxious.
I am not a huge fan of heights.
Like I freak out when I get stuck at the top of the ferris wheel.
I tried not to think to much about it and work myself up.
We got ready in our mismatched snow gear
and headed out through the village to find our location.
We walked circles for a while before
finally finding it. I was wearing Michelle's
rain boots which are a size to small plus I had on two pairs
of socks so my feet were hurting a little.

We did the twilight tour which is the last run of the day.
Josh and I were the only two in the bear tour group.
We got VIP treatment.
We met our instructors, got geared up, and headed out to the practice run.
I started getting nervous and volunteered to go first to get it over with.
The practice run felt like nothing.
I was like I can do this no problem.
Little did I know what was in store for me.

We then drove a shuttle up to the zip line location.
We signed up for the bear tour.
It is the a shorter tour and  you do 4 different runs.

We got dropped off and headed out into the woods by
walking through paths and bridges.
The picture below is from the first platform we
stopped at for our first run.

I again volunteered to go first.
As I was getting harnessed up I got
really nervous. Heart was beating super fast.
I told myself just to go for it so I did.
I had mixed feelings as I soared across.
Mostly fear.
I didn't love it.

Josh coming across.
It was a breeze for him.

After I was safely on the other side it began to sink in
that I had to do this three more times!
The courses only got longer too.
I had a little melt down before my second run
and almost didn't do it.
The very kind guide talked me into it.

By the third run I actually enjoyed it!

The final run they wanted you to go upside down.
I was not having anything to do with that.
I was finally enjoying but I still held on for dear life.
The fourth and final run was really quick.
By then I was ready to do more and bummed it was over.

I am now feel like an adventure woman a
and ready to zip line all around the world!
