Elf on the Shelf arrives

Yesterday morning our Elf on the Shelf arrived!

He didn't come empty handed. 

He brought a yummy breakfast for the kids too.

Donuts with hot chocolate and a candy candy.

While Jordan enjoyed his breakfast I read the book to him.

He wasn't to excited at first to help me pick out a name.

I told him I would pick one then he would have to pick one.

We wrote the names on post it notes and folded them in half.

Jordan then closed his eyes and picked one.

He was super excited when he picked one of his!

Our Elf's name is Sunshine.

Jordan was then more into it and wanted to fill out the back of the book!

weekend birthday getaway

Again for my birthday Josh and I got to take a little getaway just the two of us!

Last year we got to go Whistler and this year we went to Leavenworth.

It is always so nice to get away just us and have that time to reconnect.

We did a lot of walking around the village, wine tasting, cheese tasting

and of course trying out different meats. Our room was nice and cozy

with a fire place and a jetted tub! It was so wonderful to relax.

Josh also gave me my birthday present while we were there.

My very first gun.

On Saturday we found a place in the woods to go shoot.

We woke up to snow Sunday but it mostly melted.

We then woke up to snow Monday and it continued to snow most of our way back!

I hope to continue this yearly birthday weekend getaway.

It is a fun way to explore new places while get to spend time with my love.

Each year the kids make a list for Christmas.

Well Michelle does.

Jordan usually says he doesn't need anymore toys

so I go on Amazon and make a list for him.

I then go through the list with him and he picks the things he wants.

I then share these lists with grandparents.

When buying kids for the kids I follow this rule
something they want
something they need
something to wear
and something to read

My goal is to always just stick to that and their stockings
but it never works out. They usually get some extra stuff
because Josh and I get a little excited when shopping.
