little pool day

Monday we spent pretty much the entire day outside in the yard!
I went out around eight to fill up our little two ring pool.
The kids were ready to play in it so I let them go get their suits on.
They spent the morning splashing, spraying, jumping and sliding into this little pool.
At one point I set up the slip n slide but the pool still won their vote.

Took a little lunch break and then they were right back to playing.

After a bit we went in for a little down time and break from the sun.
For our fun in the sun activity I blended up some
slurpees for an afternoon refreshment.
It is pretty simple recipe.
I didn't have club soda though so used Sierra Mist.
Ty and Mia loved it Jordan was not a fan.
We will try another flavor soon with club soda.
All you need is:

1 packet of Kool-Aid
2 cups of club soda
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups crushed ice
and, of course, a blender

Step 1 ~ Blend Kool-Aid, sugar, and 1 cup of the club soda on high until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 2 ~ Add the ice and blend until the mixture is smooth.
Step 3 ~ Add remaining cup of club soda and blend away.

Step 4 ~ Pour mixture into glasses and put in freezer for 30 minutes. Wait and relax!

Enjoy outside in the sun!

Later that night Jordan had a baseball game at bender.
We were able to sit in the shade which felt nice!

low key Sunday

We started out the day very low key. Sleeping in for some.
The kids and I headed outside to play games in the shade.
Once Josh was up we finished organizing the garage.
It was a hot day like 90's hot.
We headed over to Joel's to BBQ.
The kids cooled off in the pool and on the trampoline.
It was a simple but fun day!

glen day

Last Saturday I decided to head up to the Glen with Michelle for the day.
My parents were already there staying.  We left early so we could watch the
glen parade that celebrates both 4th of July and Canada day. We brought Cohen with us
so he could watch the parade too.

After the parade we headed back to bbq some lunch.
Danny, Jana and Ezra arrived just as lunch was being pulled off.
We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing, talking, playing games
and of course lots of cuddling with Ezra.

We headed home around dinner time and had a low key evening at home.
While we spent the day at the Glen Josh and Jordan had a guy day.
They put together the shelves for the garage, mowed the lawn, went to the dump,
to the mall for a new hat for Jordan, and went to a monster truck show!
