ten on ten

ten on ten button

once a month on the tenth
taking a photo every hour for ten consecutive hours.
Finding much life and beauty
among the ordinary things of our day!

ten on ten
Tuesday {summer} edition

Today I started picture taking late considering I didn't even get up until almost 10!
This is very unlike me.
I am usually wide awake as soon as the sun comes up.
I think a softball weekend in the sun wore me out.
I did manage to get a photo an hour so enjoy!

9:45 am
Came downstairs to two kiddos relaxing watching tv.

11:00am
While I was downstairs cleaning house for bunco
the kids decided to clean their rooms too!

11:45am
Jordan made his first dollar!
He put away the neighbors garbage can and recycling while they were camping.

12:45pm
playing a game of memory before quiet time.

1:45pm
Should be getting ready for bunco at my house tonight
instead I laid out in the sun.

2:45pm
Meanwhile Michelle was playing with the neighborhood kids.

3:45pm
Jordan and I just got done shopping for Bunco goodies.
He was a huge helper pushing the cart.
We got a lot of where's waldo in the store :)

4:45pm
I was in my freak out mood trying to get food ready, set up tables and chairs, get dinner for kids,
and get them out the door to Jordan's swim lesson.

5:45pm
All set up and ready to go!
Stress gone!

6:45pm
All the food pulled out of fridge and ready to eat!
Pinterest inspired dessert kabobs.

9:15pm
Kids return home and get tucked into bed.
Tonight they are having a sleepover in Michelle's room.

Softball weekend

Saturday and Sunday we spent the days in Canada watching Josh play in a Coed softball tournament.
Saturday I actually left the kids with my sister in law!
Huge thank you to Christine!
It is nice to be able to sit back, enjoy the sun, and actually watch the games.
They played three games and won each one.

Meanwhile the kids had a blast spending time with their Auntie and cousins.
They went to a flight museum and spray park afterwards!
I have a few pictures from Michelle's camera.
I hoping to get some from Christine too.
hint...hint

When we got back I picked up all the kids including my nephews!
They were going to sleepover so their parents could go to a wedding.
They played outside for a bit and then relaxed with a movie Open Season 2.
I finally got them to sleep a little before ten then I followed shortly after.

On Sunday the kiddos came with us!
They did great considering it was super hot out.
Plus as long as they are eating something they are pretty happy.
The Posse's lost their first game but continued to win the rest to take 1st place!
It was a charity event for the Children's hospital so
they donated the winnings to the hospital!

July is here!

July is here!
I like to document a day in the life on the 1st of each month.
We had a pretty typical Sunday around here today!
Jordan was up a little before eight and ready to eat.
I got him breakfast, a show started, and then I crawled back into bed.
I was awake by then but still nice to lay and relax for a few more minutes.

7:45 am

8:30 am
When I cam down a little later both kids were up and watching a show.
Jordan loves playing angry birds on my kindle.

9:20 am

10:00am
Jordan was super excited to have a new month so he could change all the calendars.

11:00 am

11:30 am
Michelle pulled out her American Girl magazines to copy recipes.
She decided she wanted to send in a letter.
She designed a beach scene for her envelope.

12:30 pm
Michelle went to my parents house to spend the night.
Josh and Jordan headed out side so I decided I would go for a walk.

2:00pm
When I came back I had a text from Josh saying they went to go pick up fireworks!
This gave me time to shower and eat before they returned.

 3:00pm
The guys from the neighborhood return with a whole lot of fireworks!
They out did themselves this year!
We are going to have quite the show.

4:00pm
hanging out!

 5:30 pm
Time to bbq with the neighbors!

6:00 pm
Best buds!
We have a great neighborhood and these two little guys love playing together!
They are also pretty excited about their firework back packs!

8:45 pm
The guys having a little fun in the alley.

We spent the evening outside with hanging with the neighbors.
We did a few fireworks for the kids.
The kids always have a blast riding scooters, bikes,
nerf fights, and shooting hoops together!

A {little} alone time

I asked Josh if he would take the kids up to the Glen for
the night Friday so I could have a little break.
I love my kids but every once in a while you need a little alone time!
I love just sitting in a quiet house and can actually finish a though
or a task.

After they left I got something to eat and watched a show.
Then I dug into Jordan's to clean and gut it!
I am going through the house room by room cleaning and gutting it.
The plan is to have a garage sale so or just donate it.
I forgot a before pic but just picture a floor so covered in "garbage", blocks, legos, angry birds, garbage trucks, ect. that you can't walk through it without crushing toys.

After wards it was nice and clean!
I give it two days :)

{this is from today...note the blocks getting lined up for garbage day}

After all that I had to sort out all the toys that belonged downstairs
and those that were going out to the garage for now.

I then made myself go to the grocery store.
I should have done this at the beginning of the week
but I am not a huge fan of grocery shopping.
I guess I don't mind the shopping part it the multiple trips
to bring everything into the house and then having to put it away.

Saturday morning my plan was to clean and gut our room.
I just was not in the mood for that and I had a ton of running around  to do in Bellingham.
So I grabbed some returns and headed out.

Best part of driving alone is you can turn the music up and sing loud.
Very good therapy.

I am glad I just did that because I left around 10:30 and didn't get home until 5!
I had to go all over to gather stuff for 4th of July block party
and I am hosting Bunco here next week!
I happened to stop in Old Navy and they were having a sale on all solid flip flops for $1!
I got three pairs for Michelle and three for me!

By the time I got home Josh and the kids had returned.
We switched places and Josh headed out for a friend's bday party {poker game}.
I got everything put away.
Kids were a little tired {aka crying, fighting, whining} from camping
so they made an early exit to bed.
I then put together goodie bags for the 4th
and watched a movie on netflix!

Wasn't exactly the most relaxing time alone but I can get
so much done when I am.
